The Iowa Falls-Alden baseball and softball teams will look to regain momentum entering the weekend in matchups against Humboldt.
IFA baseball (4-14, 3-9 NCC) has lost four straight following a 16-4 loss at Webster City in four innings on Wednesday. Kyler Patton, Brooks Hickman and Tate Ziesman each drove in a run. The Cadets continue to work on generating offense averaging 3.8 runs per game. Hayden Reed continues his impact on the mound with a 1.53 ERA and 26 strikeouts in seven appearances.
Humboldt (14-6, 9-4 NCC) has won two in a row. The Wildcats spark begins with Isaiah Busick with a .531 avg (leads conference, 26 hits and 16 RBI’s.

IFA softball (7-13, 4-8 NCC) has lost three in a row and enters off an 8-0 loss to Webster City on Wednesday. Cidni Phipps worked six innings allowing seven earned runs with seven strikeouts in the loss. Alivia Tupper has been core to Cadet run production with a .315 avg and 13 RBI’s. The Cadets will look to continue to create on offense through stolen bases with 55, which ranks third in the conference.
Humboldt (10-14, 6-7 NCC) leads with two players that rank in the top four in the conference in batting average with Reagan Lee at a .457 avg (3rd) and Claire Dieleman at a .453 avg (4th).
