More Iowa counties approved for public assistance following severe weather

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced the approval of 28 additional counties for public assistance under the previously approved Major Disaster Declaration for Iowa counties where significant damage was sustained from tornadoes, severe storms, and widespread flooding that occurred between May 20th-May 31st.

Those counties include Butler, Franklin, Hancock, and Wright.

The additional counties have been approved for funding for emergency work, such as debris removal and emergency protective measures.
