Chicken Soup for the Soul is a line of self help and inspirational books that came out in 1993. There are over 276 books in the collection and I bet you have either received or given one as a gift. Their first book was a best seller and exploded on to the scene, morphing the company into Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. They expanded their media into TV and movie distribution and acquired the movie rental kiosk, Redbox. With the rise of streaming many new release are available same day on streaming platforms. Less and less people are renting physical copies. Chicken Soup for the Soul just announced it is filing for Bankruptcy. No other word on what their plans for the future may be. Chicken Soup for the Soul tv programs are still on Youtube at the time, if you are ever feeling nostalgic, and I’m sure you could find a copy of one of the books at any thrift store. Only time will tell the future of this once notable company.
