The West Fork softball and baseball teams will finish the regular season and celebrate senior night against Central Springs on Monday. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed due to weather.

West Fork softball (14-6, 9-2 in Top of Iowa East) enters with momentum on a four game win streak. Junior Libby Trewin is a top pitcher in the conference with 14 wins, a 1.23 ERA, and 199 strikeouts. Junior Joanna Wallace has helped the offense take flight with a .413 avg. and 25 runs scored.

West Fork Softball Coach Sadie Winfrey says the team has rallied around experienced leadership.

“It’s been nice because we have a lot of returners who have been playing at the higher level for quite a bit of time,” says Winfrey. “They are great leaders for other activities, and they pick up right where they’re left off when they are able to join us. It’s been good to see that leadership carry over as they work from eighth grade all the way to now.”

Central Springs softball (16-9, 12-3 in Top of Iowa East) has won four in a row. The Panthers power hitter is Sharli Fessler with a .492 avg. and 49 RBI’s.

The Warhawks will recognize five seniors including Breckyn Dickman, Mallery Meier, Brea Weaver, Kacie Fessler and MacKenzie Linderman.

Action begins at 5:30 p.m.
