The AGWSR softball team will play its regular season finale at Dunkerton Wednesday.
The Cougars (3-25) are coming off Monday’s 9-6 win over Iowa Falls-Alden, which snapped an 11-game losing streak. That night, the Cougars racked up 10 hits and scored their most runs in a game since the streak began. Junior Trevyn Smith says the offense is heating up.
“At the plate how we are lately,” Smith says. “I think this is some of our best, so trying to go up from there would be really good. I think just eliminating a few errors here and there, some walks, just cleaning up a little bit on defense, I think is the biggest thing going into postseason.”
Smith bats .381 to lead the team, including a team-high 12 RBIs.
Dunkerton (5-15) has had over a week since their last game, a 12-0 loss to #12 (1A) Clarksville on Tuesday, June 25. Peyton Smith bats .434 to lead the team.
The game will start at 5:00 p.m.
