Highway 3 bridge in Waverly to be replaced over the Cedar River

For those who use Highway 3 on a regular basis, the Iowa Department of Transportation says upcoming construction work to replace the Highway 3 bridge over the Cedar River in Waverly will begin August 1st, until the fall of 2025, weather and river level permitting.

Work will take place during the winter months when possible.

While the bridge is closed, there will be a marked detour route using 10th Avenue Southwest and the Cedar River Parkway.

Pedestrian access to businesses east of the river in Waverly will be maintained.
