Sheffield to move forward with removing dozens of trees

Last week the Sheffield City Council approved to take sealed bids on the public works 2006 Ford F=250 pickup truck with a tommy lift gate.

The starting bid will be 6-thousand dollars, with the bids due at city hall by 4:30pm on August 9th.

In other business, the Sheffield City Council approved wage increases for the city clerk and the head lifeguard at the swimming pool.

And the Sheffield council reviewed a map put together by the public works department that shows 57 trees need to be removed in the city right-of-way due to the trees dying or having disease problems.

The Sheffield City Council approved to remove the trees, with bids being accepted for the work through August 9th.
