8 counties file motion to reconsider over the Summit pipeline case

A group of 7 counties, including Shelby, Kossuth, Floyd, Emmet, Dickinson, Wright, and Woodbury, has filed a motion to reconsider the final decision and order made by the Iowa Utilities Commission concerning the construction of the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline.

Hardin County also filed a motion to reconsider and to join in the motion by the 7 counties involving the Summit project.

The 7 counties state in their filing with the IUC that erroneous findings of fact were made concerning safety, transportation methods, and public use.

The Iowa Utilities Commission issued the final decision and order concerning the pipeline on June 25th, stating that if certain conditions were met, the pipeline could be constructed.
