A couple of project updates from Parkersburg.
First, the water tower rehabilitation project will start sometime in August. The tower will need to be completely drained to perform the work, and a change order will probably be needed to cover the additional cost to keep the water pressure maintained using portable tanks being brought in to provide storage capacity.
Secondly, the Parkersburg City Council earlier this month approved the plans, specifications, form of contract, and engineer’s estimate of cost for the Newell Avenue Street Reconstruction Project.
The contract for the work was awarded to Hudson Hardware and Heating for a base bid of $1,224,556, which includes installing a concrete street and concrete storm sewer.
