The Cerro Gordo County Community Foundation held its grant awards celebration this week.
$146,581 was distributed to 13 projects of organizations serving Cerro Gordo County through its 2024 grant cycle.
Some of the projects to receive funding include 20-thousand dollars to help pay for the cost of tearing down the American Legion Gallagher Post 208 building in Rockwell, and to help with construction of a new building.
The Swaledale Fire Department will receive just over 10-thousand dollars for bunker gear, the Meservey Area Promotional Organization will receive 11-thousand dollars for resurfacing of the basketball court, and the Rockwell Fire Department will receive almost 78-hundred dollars for a turnout gear extractor and dryer.
