The Iowa Department of Transportation will be accepting public input on proposed improvements along Highway 122 in Mason City at a meeting Thursday.
The Iowa DOT is proposing improvements between Pierce and Monroe Avenues, which would include removal of the existing pavement and pavement reconstruction, and to construct sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer.
During the reconstruction of Highway 122, traffic will be in a head-to-head pattern through the work zone. Access to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center will be maintained at all times, by alternate routes. Construction is expected to start in the spring of next year and end in the fall of 2026.
The in person meeting about Highway 122 will be held Thursday in the Mason City Room of the public library from 5-6:30pm.
