Dike Watermelon Days will be held this weekend, with the majority of events being held downtown and at Kruger-Hemmen Sports Complex.
On Friday, the crowning of Little Mr. and Ms. will be held in front of the school at 5:45 p.m., followed by water fights at 6:00. A concert by Jay Allen will begin at 8:00 at Lynch’s, and a moonlit movie will be at the raquetball court at 9:15.
On Saturday, the parade will start at 10:00 a.m., followed by kids activities, a watermelon feed and belt sander races. From 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., “Meet a Slice of Dike History – Celebrating the Celebrations” will be held at the library.
Saturday’s events at Kruger-Hemmen Sports Complex include a pickleball tournament sponsored by Dike-New Hartford Dollars for Scholars at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Phil Kruger 5K at 8:00. Yard games will start at 6:00 p.m. and fireworks will be launched at 9:30 p.m.
On Sunday, a four-person best shot tournament will be held at Fox Ridge Golf Course at 9:00 a.m. A worship service will begin at 10:00 at the city park.
