The Iowa Falls-Alden football team will play the second half of its district cycle this season. They’ll look to bounce back from a 2-7 season under Eric Walkingstick, who’s entering his second season as the head coach.

The Cadets will open the season with the annual “Battle for Bradford” when they travel to Hampton-Dumont-CAL. The Cadets have lost three straight in the series. The game will be played in Hampton for the first time since 2021. They’ll host South Hardin for the home opener in Week 2. The Tigers have won the last two in the series.

The Cadets will travel to Clear Lake in Week 3 to take on a perennially strong Lions team for the final non-district game.
District play will begin in Week 4 at Union. The Cadets defeated the Knights for the first time last season. They’ll host Vinton-Shellsburg in Week 5, a team that was winless last season.

A second straight home game will be played in Week 6 when the Cadets host West Marshall, a program Iowa Falls-Alden has never beaten in five tries. They’ll travel to Jesup in Week 6. It’ll be the second meeting between the programs and the first in Jesup.

The regular season will close in Week 8 with a home game against PCM. It’ll be the fourth straight season the teams will have met, with the reigning district champion Mustangs winning the previous three.

Practice will begin Monday.
