Yesterday about 6am the Sheffield Fire Department was called out on the report of a house on fire at 618 Maple Street. No injuries reported.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming out of the eaves of the rental home, where no one had been living. The home is considered to be a complete loss.
Firefighters were on the scene for almost three hours. The cause appears to be electrical in nature.
Assisting agencies were Sheffield EMS, FGH Ambulance, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
