Last year during the final weeks of summer, there were 54 traffic fatalities in Iowa, and 44 percent of those accidents involved impairment.
The Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is partnering with law enforcement across the state to decrease impaired driving from Friday through September 2nd.
Agencies will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high visibility enforcement project.
Remember, there are plenty of options to get impaired drivers home safely, including to designate a sober driver.
