A 38-year-old Plainfield man this week was sentenced for up to 30 years in prison on a sexual abuse conviction.

Richard Bush the Second was on the sex offender registry as a result of a sex offense to a minor conviction, in Michigan, before moving to Iowa.

On May 4th, 2023, Bush was arrested by the Bremer County Sheriff’s Department following a sexual abuse investigation involving a minor. He was originally charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Then during a hearing in June, Bush entered a guilty plea to 3 counts of lascivious acts with a child, and was then sentenced this week in Waverly to three 10-year sentences to be served consecutively.
