The Dike-New Hartford football team will play the second half of its district cycle in 2024, coming off last year’s 7-4 season.
They’ll open the season at defending Class 1A state champion Grundy Center. The Spartans have won three straight in the series, including last year in the regular season and quarterfinals.
In Week 2, they’ll host West Branch, who the Wolverines defeated 9-7 last year. Non-district play will conclude in Week 3 at Osage, which defeated DNH 15-14 last year.
District play will begin in Week 4 with a home game against Sumner-Fredericksburg, one of last year’s co-district champions. In Week 5, the Wolverines will travel to Central Springs, a team the Wolverines are 6-0 against all-time.
The Wolverines will travel to defending Class 1A runner-up MFL MarMac in Week 6. The teams have each won two games in the series, and the Bulldogs have won two straight. They’ll host Aplington-Parkersburg in Week 7, a series in which they’ve won six straight. It’ll be the first home game against the Falcons since 2021.
The regular season will close in Week 8 against Denver, which the Wolverines defeated 14-8 last year.
