The chairperson of the Franklin County Democratic Party, Catherine Crooks, released the following statement concerning the arrest of Daniel Embree of Hampton, who is alleged to have placed signs at Hispanic businesses in Hampton this week.

Crooks says, “I am pleased to learn that an arrest has been made for the hate crime that took place in Hampton this week. Thank you to our local law enforcement teams for your quick action to find out who was responsible, and hold them accountable. No person in our community should be made to feel unsafe for any reason. I hope this arrest sends a clear message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.”

Embree is being held at the Hardin County Jail on a 6-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.
