The AGWSR football team will play the second half of its district cycle in 2024, coming off last year’s 3-6 season.
They’ll open the season at Lake Mills after falling 14-7 at home to the Bulldogs last year. In Week 2, they’ll play the home opener and district opener against BCLUW, against whom they’ve won seven straight in the series.
In Week 3, they’ll host North Tama, which defeated the Cougars 34-18 last year. They’ll play at Nashua-Plainfield in Week 4, which won last year’s meeting 42-7 and five straight in the series.
In Week 5, they’ll host South Winneshiek, which narrowly defeated the Cougars 16-12 last year. They’ll travel to reigning district champion Wapsie Valley in Week 6, in search of their first win in the series since 2015.
The Cougars will play their final non-district game in Week 7 by hosting Belmond-Klemme. The Cougars have won five straight in the series, including a 41-0 win last year. They’ll close the regular season in Week 8 at North Butler, a program they’ve never beaten in three tries.
