A woman is dead after a car backed over her at a residence along Highway 65, just north of Sheffield, Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place in the 2400 block of Highway 65. The Iowa State Patrol says they were called to the scene around 4:15 p.m. and says a 2006 Buick LaCrosse rolled backwards and pinned the victim, 66-year-old Pamela Harvey of Sheffield, underneath the vehicle, killing her.
The accident remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Sheffield Police Department, Sheffield Fire and EMS, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Mason City Fire and EMS and Woodley Funeral Home.
