The South Hardin football team will look to continue its climb to surpass .500 this season after going 4-5 last year.
They’ll kick off the season by hosting South Hamilton; the Hawks have won two straight in the series. In Week 2, they’ll visit Iowa Falls-Alden after a 35-14 win last season.
In Week 3, the Tigers will host Aplington-Parkersburg, as the Falcons have won the last three meetings. In Week 4, they’ll remain home to open district play against Alburnett in their second meeting all-time. The Tigers won last year’s first-ever meeting 28-21.
In Week 5, they’ll head south to take on East Marshall; the Tigers have won six in a row in the series. In Week 6, they’ll host defending Class 1A state champion Grundy Center on senior night; the Spartans have won six in a row in the series.
In Week 7, the Tigers take a road trip to Hudson after a 42-21 win over the Pirates last season. They’ll wrap up the regular season in Week 8 at Columbus Catholic in Waterloo, for only the second meeting between the programs. The Sailors won 19-6 in their first-ever meeting last year.
