Thursday, the Hampton City Council approved a resolution, establishing a housing steering committee and approving the local match of $10,000 for the Iowa Rural Housing Assessment grant application.
In other business, the Hampton City Council appointed Lance Studer to fill a vacancy on the planning and zoning commission for the remainder of a term ending December 31st, 2026, vacated by Jesse Mollenbeck.
The Hampton City Council also approved a renewal of the employment agreement with police chief, Mark Morrison. The three-year contract will be effective September 27th with an annual base salary of $90,850 for the first year of the contract, $97,663.75 for the second year and $102,546.93 for the third year of the contract.
