
A 19-year-old Mason City resident, who was originally charged with attempted murder, entered a guilty plea this week to two counts of willful injury in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
The state alleged that Jerrell McKnight shot a male outside of MidTown Liquor and Vape in the 800 block of North Federal Avenue on June 14th in Mason City.
A sentencing date has not been set. Willful injury is a class “C” felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
McKnight remains held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
