A 28-year-old Hampton man, who used to be a high school coach, was sentenced earlier this month on a charge of lascivious conduct with a minor.

The state originally charged Ismael Rodriguez Torres with sexual exploitation by a school employee, after he was alleged to have been involved with a female student in December of 2022.

At the time, he was a head girls soccer coach and a high school paraeducator for the Hampton-Dumont district.

Rodriguez Torres received a 2 year suspended prison sentence, was placed on 2 years of probation, fined $855, and was ordered to sign up on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
