Today the Iowa Economic Development Authority announced awards of $1,678,389 from seven grant programs to strengthen the arts, culture and creative industries across the state and provide Iowans with access to enriching cultural experiences.
IEDA approved 173 awards to Iowa organizations and Iowans in more than 60 communities.
Projects awarded funding range from arts and cultural festivals and live theatre performances to exhibitions, film productions and community public art projects.
Under Art Project Grants-Organizations, the Windsor Theatre Development Corporation in Hampton will receive 7-thousand dollars for a Ballet Des Moines Performance and school outreach.
Under Cultural Capacity Building Grants, the Iowa Alliance for Arts Education in Hampton will receive 5-thousand dollars for operating support.
Other grants were awarded to NIACC, the MacNider Art Museum in Mason City, and to the Surf Ballroom and Museum in Clear Lake.
