Abnormally dry conditions expand in Iowa

The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report shows that the coverage area of abnormally dry conditions in Iowa jumped in the past week from just over 3 percent to almost 38 percent.

In the broadcast area, all of Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin and Butler Counties are now listed as being abnormally dry along with northern portions of Hardin and Grundy Counties.

3 months ago 24-point-27 percent of Iowa was listed as being abnormally dry.
