The Clarksville football team will play its second of two road games to lead off the season with a visit to North Iowa on Friday. The Indians will look to bounce back from a season opening loss to Belle Plaine last week.
Head Coach Darren Bohlen
“Going to be a long road trip, our kids got a game under their belt now so that’s going to be to our advantage,” says Bohlen. “We have a lot of improvement to do for that second week. I think we need to tweak our offense and see if we can spread it out a little bit more. We got to be able to be firing off that football and be comfortable with the plays. We got great kids, they respond and work hard so I have no doubt that they’re gonna bounce back and and give it their all this next week in practice. They’ll be ready for North Iowa.”
The Indians were led by Nathan Moon, Boden Miller and Aiden Doty with a rushing touchdown apiece against the Plainsmen.
North Iowa went 2-6 last season and will be young entering Week 1 after graduating eight seniors. Sophomore Andrew Hofmann had 28 tackles last season and returns to lead defense.
Clarksville has won the last two meetings including a 60-12 win last season.
Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. in Buffalo Center.
