Sunday, the Hampton Police Department received several reports of vehicle burglaries and vandalism in the city. Hampton police officers were able to identify two juvenile male suspects related to the incidents. Officers conducted a pair of search warrants at their homes and recovered stolen property as a result of those search warrants. The two juvenile suspects were later charged and referred to juvenile authorities.
One juvenile was charged with eight counts of third-degree burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, three counts of fourth-degree theft, one count of third-degree theft, one count of fifth-degree theft and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.
The other juvenile was charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, two counts of fourth-degree theft, one count of third-degree theft, one count of fifth-degree theft, one count of third-degree criminal mischief and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.
