Kerry Gold Pure Irish Butter, was facing a lawsuit. There packaging was found to contain PFAs, (forever chemicals) that leak into the product. Kerry Gold prioritizes grass fed cows to produce the butter so a higher quality taste. The promise of a higher quality product is why consumers are willing to pay more for their butter. The lawsuit was dismissed when Kerry Gold stated the “pure” label describes the Irish, not the butter. I was a consumer of Kerry Gold butter but now, I am going to the old fashioned kind. Amish hand rolled butter wrapped in wax paper. It is an old style that is still available at places like Nimrod Meats in Iowa Falls and at Fareway Grocery. Everything is better with real butter so I am switching to local, over commercial.
