Butler County Engineer John Riherd tells Radio on the Go News that the county purchased 28 precast-prestressed concrete panels that are produced in Iowa Falls and used them this past construction season as a 200 foot 4-span temporary bridge south of Unverferth Manufacturing.

The panels were then put into storage as crews from the secondary roads department in Butler County constructed abutments and piers at two other locations.

This week Butler County will be relocating the panels to permanent locations, as two new bridges will be 100 feet long, and will be 2-span structures that will replace timber bridges.

One new bridge will be near the intersection of 180th Street and Evergreen Avenue in the Bristow area, the second new bridge will be along 105th Street east of Birch Avenue north of Aredale.
