The #8 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball team earned two large wins at Tuesday’s triangular at North Tama; one by margin and one by significance. The Falcons recorded 2-0 sweeps of Valley Lutheran and #3 (1A) North Tama.
In a quick opener, the Falcons had two of the biggest set wins possible, 25-1, 25-3.
The Falcons proceeded to beat the Redhawks 25-21, 25-21. In the first set, North Tama led 12-7, but AP scored six straight to take the lead, and they stretched the advantage the rest of the way. The Falcons played from behind throughout the first 20 points of set 2, but scored five straight points for a 21-15 lead. North Tama scored six of the next eight points to get within 23-21, but the Falcons scored the final two for the win.
AP (7-0) will host #12 (2A) Hudson in Thursday’s NICL-Central opener.
