Today about 12:35am the Iowa State Patrol was called out on the report of a single vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes of the Avenue of the Saints Highway near mile marker 195 in eastern Cerro Gordo County.
A 2022 Kia Telluride was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and entered the median for an unknown reason.
The vehicle struck a bridge pillar and became fully engulfed in flames.
The vehicle was occupied by one person who was found dead in the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
