Tuesday the Wright County Board of Supervisors voted 2-1 in favor of an Engagement Letter from the Ahlers and Cooney Law Firm for joint representation of certain counties seeking judicial review of the Iowa Utilities Commission’s decision granting a pipeline permit to Summit Carbon Solutions.
This is supervisor Dean Kluss.
“Again, it would involve the seven counties and could possibly involve additional counties if they choose to join also. But this would be asking the district court to review the legal decisions and the legal reasoning that they made behind their decisions on those things, such as them being a common carrier and therefore being eligible to use eminent domain.”
Voting for the motion was Kluss and board chairman Karl Helgevold, voting against was supervisor Rick Rasmussen.
