Here’s an update to a story we first told you about Friday.

Charges of first degree theft against an older individual were dropped yesterday against 44-year-old Clint Michael Frey of Hampton.

Thursday Hampton Police took a report of 2 vehicles that had been allegedly stolen from the Sherwood Apartments located along 12th Avenue Northwest, and arrested Frey.

However, Friday, Franklin County Attorney Andrea Miller filed a motion to dismiss the charges, and that motion was approved by the judge.

(Our original story is below)

Last night the Hampton Police Department arrested 44-year-old Clint Michael Frey of Hampton on two counts of first degree theft against an older individual.

Hampton Police took a report of 2 vehicles that had been allegedly stolen from the Sherwood Apartments located along 12th Avenue Northwest.

In Iowa, theft against an older individual is a crime that increases the penalties for theft by one degree. This means that if someone commits first degree theft against an older person, they are guilty of a class “B” felony, punishable by up to 25-years in prison.

Frey is being held at the Franklin County LEC.
