The Colts Corner Bin Town Child Care Center in Sheffield is in the process of hiring staff members as work on the building itself is nearing completion.

Director Sara Shreckengost tells Radio on the Go News that she is going through a waiting list to see what the interest level is still like for the child care center.

“I’ve had a waiting list out since the beginning of January, so I have been reaching out to those families. We’ve had about a 50% response back for confirmed spots, still reaching out to some other families to see if they’re still needing that childcare. So again, this is a daycare center that is for the entire community. This is not just Sukup employees, it is for our community surrounding areas. It is open to everyone.”

Shreckengost used to have her own in-home daycare business.

“This has been a definite need for a very long time. When I was doing childcare, I think there was probably maybe only four of us, and then Apple Daycare in Sheffield also opened. But even when I closed my doors, there was only probably two in the area. So this has been a long time need. I feel this is gonna be a great asset to the community and the surrounding areas. So this is gonna be a real, real great thing for our community.”
