The driver involved in a single vehicle fatality accident in the eastbound lanes of the Avenue of the Saints Highway in eastern Cerro Gordo County from Wednesday morning has been identified as 30-year-old Samantha Grant of Waterloo, formerly of Mason City.
The Iowa State Patrol says Grant was driving a 2022 Kia Telluride eastbound on the Saints Highway about 12:35am Wednesday when her vehicle left the roadway and entered the median for an unknown reason.
The vehicle struck a bridge pillar and became fully engulfed in flames. Grant died at the scene.
