The Fiesta Cultural De Clarion 2024 will be held Saturday at Gazebo Park in Clarion from 12pm-10pm.
Fiesta Cultural Co-chairperson Elmarie Nel tells RadioOnTheGo News that traditional folk dancing will be taking place Saturday.
“We’re also going to have a live mariachi band that will be on stage and also during the day walking through and performing. We’re going to have a couple of competitions. We’re going to have a salsa tasting competition. So anybody can enter their salsa that they’ve made as long as they put in any allergens or the ingredients and people can taste different salsas and then vote for their best one. We’re also going to have dancing competition. We’re going to have piñatas for the children, face painting, balloon animals. We’re going to have a live petting zoo with goats and rabbits, and a llama, we’re going to have a little choo-choo train for the children, bounce houses, everything that you can think of that makes the festival fantastic.”
Nel describes why it is so important to hold a festival like this one.
“Our vision is to unify our cultural diversity the right way in Wright County. So we’re pulling together all the cultures and showcasing the diversity that we have and inviting everybody to come have just a fun day with great food and entertainment and embracing all the differences that we all have in all our cultures and the stronger we can be as a community by knowing what everybody likes dislikes and just enjoying it together as a beautiful day with our families.”
