The Hampton-Dumont-CAL volleyball team will play its first of two conference matches and first of three outings of the week when it hosts Humboldt for a North Central Conference match Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (2-0, 1-0 NCC) have just one set loss so far, which came in Thursday’s 3-1 home win over St. Edmond to begin conference play. Despite the low number of matches, senior Charlee Morton has racked up the conference’s best kill efficiency at .613. She’s second on the team with 21 kills, behind Aubryee Showalter’s 29.

Humboldt (4-4, 1-0 NCC) lost three straight to begin the season, but has won three straight and four of its last five. They’re coming off Thursday’s 3-0 sweep of Clear Lake to begin conference play, where Mia Schluter led with 16 kills. Her 61 season kills are the third-best in the conference.

A Bulldog win would be their first in the series since 2011. Humboldt has won 12 straight in the series, including a 3-2 win last year which featured bonus points in set 5. The match will start at 7:30 p.m.
