North Butler Volleyball with Road Test at #7 Saint Ansgar

The North Butler volleyball team will begin a busy week at #7 (1A) Saint Ansgar as the programs meet in Top of Iowa-East action on Tuesday.

North Butler (2-6, 1-1 TOI-E) enters looking to break out of a six-match losing streak. The Bearcats lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-21) to Central Springs at home in their last match on Thursday. The Bearcats’ lead attacker has been senior Olivia Dralle with 30 kills. Senior Rayne Becker has protected open spaces defensively with a team-leading 42 digs.

North Butler Head Coach Sarah Goodrich on focusing on their side of the net and teamwork.

“This year’s motto is we over me. We know it’s gonna be a tough match and as always we can only control what we can control,” says Goodrich. “We know that we have to bring our game. We also know that we are capable of huge things and have lots of potential when we play together.”

Saint Ansgar (11-4, 0-1 TOI-E), in recent action, went 3-2 at New Hampton’s tournament on Saturday. both losses were to #1 (2A) Denver. Senior Sophia Urbatsch leads Class 1A in assists with 287, and senior Ameila Porisch leads the Saints with 103 kills.

First serve is at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Ansgar.
