Aplington Council discusses EMS tax and more Wednesday

The Aplington City Council met Wednesday.

Kari Coates and Tammy Fleshner with Butler County EMS provided the council with information on the upcoming proposed EMS property tax levy. Voters will be asked to approve an EMS property tax levy in the amount of $150,000 annually or $.14/$1000 of assessed property value and a local option income surtax of not to exceed one percent on the state individual income tax.

They discussed security cameras for the brush site, park, and recycle areas, and approved up to $5,000 for all systems.

They also approved a ribbon cutting ceremony at the City Park for the new deck and playground equipment on October 26th.
