The district’s insurance fund had an ending balance of $1,420,592 as of June 30th, this is the lowest the fund has been in years, and the district will need to make decisions on how to reserve funds for the future.
This fund pays for health benefits and medical claims for district employees, and retirees.
In other business, the CGD board reviewed a letter from the Iowa High School Athletic Association that during fiscal year 2024, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was one of 185 schools in the state that did not have a coach, player, or fan ejected from any sporting event.
Only 50 percent of the school districts in Iowa received this letter.
