West Fork Volleyball with Big Trip to #4(1A) Saint Ansgar Tuesday

The West Fork volleyball team will look to defend its undefeated Top of Iowa East record in a top level match at #4(1A) Saint Ansgar on Tuesday. 

West Fork (5-5, 2-0 TIC-E) in recent action went 2-2 at Belmond-Klemme Invite on Saturday, with wins over West Hancock and North Butler, and losses to Belmond-Klemme and North Iowa.

“We want to make sure that we’re getting a good start in the conference and getting some wins under our belt to get that confidence growing, to hopefully use that to fuel the rest of the season,” says Greimann. “I could list all of them because they all just do amazing when they’re in there. We do have leadership coming from last year with some experience but they all have really stepped up. They’ve done a great job.”

The Warhawks front line is led by Leah Weaver with 43 kills, and Brylie Hubka has 42. 

Saint Ansgar (13-4, 2-1 TIC-E) won 3-0 over Nashua-Plainfield in their last match on Thursday.  The Saints have three different players that lead the Top of Iowa East in a respective category, Ameilia Porisch in kills (122), Sophia Urbatsch in assists (340) and Jacey Johnston in blocks (24).  

The Warhawks will look to track down their first win in the series since 2016.

First serve is at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Ansgar.
