Clarksville man arrested for child endangerment

The Clarksville Police Department Sunday received information on a possible child abuse situation involving a 3-year-old child residing in the city.

After investigating the alleged abuse, 43-year-old Ian Albert Andreas of Clarksville, was arrested Monday and charged with child endangerment-bodily injury.

Clarksville Police report that Andreas confirmed that he struck the victim on the back with a belt. Officers observed a dark linear bruise across the victim’s lower back.

Andreas has been released from custody.

Child endangerment-bodily injury is a class “D” felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
