The Iowa Falls-Alden volleyball team will return to North Central Conference action Thursday when they travel to Humboldt. The Cadets (4-8, 1-1 NCC) will look to take a jump in the standings against the conference-leading Wildcats (8-4, 3-0 NCC).
The Cadets will be in search of a bounce-back, having gone 0-3 at Saturday’s tournament at Belmond-Klemme, where they only won one set. They’ll look for cleaner attacks, having hit even or below in two of the three matches. Defensively, they’ve tended to keep balls alive with a league-leading 547 digs. Individually, Brooklyn Handeland has 142 to lead the conference.
Humboldt will play their second match in three days, having defeated Fort Dodge 3-1 in non-conference action Tuesday. In conference play, the Wildcats have lost just one set, which was at Hampton-Dumont-CAL. Mia Schluter leads the league with 106 kills. The Wildcats lead the league in team kills, assists and blocks.
Humboldt has won five straight in the series, all sweeps. The first serve will be at 7:30 p.m.
