Thursday afternoon a Hardin County jury returned guilty verdicts against 33-year-old Kyle Morgan Gates of Eldora following a 3 day trial. He was charged in February of this year with several counts including 2nd degree sex abuse, lascivious acts with a child, and for incest.
In this case, the child reported the abuse to school personnel. The Eldora Police Department and the Department of Human Services conducted independent investigations.
A sentencing date has not been set. Gates faces up to 40 years in prison. He remains held at the Hardin County Jail.
