North Butler Volleyball Will Look for Second Conference Win at Nashua-Plainfield on Tuesday

The North Butler volleyball team will look to break through for their first win over Nashua-Plainfield since 2021, as the programs meet in the Top of Iowa East match on Tuesday.

North Butler (3-13, 1-4 TIC-East) in recent action went 0-3 at Gladbrook-Reinbeck tournament on Saturday with losses to Gladbrook-Reinbeck, AGWSR and GMG. Olivia Dralle leads the team in kills with 84 and is amongst the best in the conference in blocks with 23 (tied for 2nd most).

“Our offense, a lot of times we get in a defensive state, where we get in a situation where we’re truly just trying to get the ball back over,” says Goodrich. “There’s times where we can still stay aggressive and play our game, so that’s kind of our biggest focus. Obviously it starts with us getting serves. Our serves have been improving. We have some individuals that have kind of been leading from that line to start us early in the game. Ultimately just staying aggressive and playing our game offensively.”

Nashua-Plainfield (3-8, 1-4 TIC-East) went 2-1 at their home tournament on Saturday with wins over North Linn and Starmont, and a loss to South Winneshiek. Kami Hannemann has the fourth most assists in the conference with 144 for the Huskies. Lilly Eiffler leads the team in kills with 45. 

Nashua-Plainfield won last year’s meeting 3-2 in Greene.

The match will air on 104.9 KLMJ with coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. followed by the first serve at 7:00 p.m. in Nashua.
