The West Fork volleyball team will ready to defend their home net as they take on Osage in a Top of Iowa East match on Tuesday. The Warhawks look to bring home their first win over the Green Devils in the Bound era series.
West Fork (5-6, 2-1 TIC-East) will play its first match in a week after a rare non-tournament weekend. The Warhawks last match was a 3-0 loss to #4(1A) Saint Ansgar in Top of Iowa East action on Tuesday September 17. Leah Weaver and Brylie Hubka collaborate as the lead attackers for the Warhawks with 47 and 46 kills respectively.
West Fork Head Coach Emily Greimann on the growing trust between teammates.
“I feel like one thing we’re always preaching is just having trust in one another,” says Greimann. “In order to do that, you got to be out there, dig out of ruts together, and go through challenges together to learn to build that trust. We’re seeing that more and more in each game. I feel like they’re trusting the girl next to them and they are communicating better. It’s all just starting to come together. I’m really excited to see what the rest of the season looks like for them.”
Osage (8-8, 3-1 TIC-East) went 1-3 at a ranked Dike-New Hartford tournament on Saturday, as the Green Devils won over #9(3A) Center Point-Urbana, and lost to #6(2A) Dike-New Hartford, #9(2A) Sumner-Fredericksburg and #14(3A) Van Meter. Jenna Scharper has the top mark in the Top of Iowa East in kills (139) and digs (167).
Osage won last year’s meeting 3-0 at home.
First serve is at 7:00 p.m. in Sheffield.
