Hampton-Dumont-CAL Cross Country places highly at Riverhawk Invitational

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL and BK-CGD cross country teams battled teams of varying sizes at Tuesday’s Riverhawk Invitational at Mason City.

The Bulldog girls placed third with 93 points, led by a PR of 22:13 by MacKenzy Valley to place 11th. 2:33 separated the top five runners.

BK-CGD’s girls placed sixth with 129 points, led by a 15th place finish by Lila Swenson in 23:01.

In the boys race, BK-CGD placed eighth with 229 points, led by Christopher Greenfield’s 15th place finish in 18:27.

Placing 10th as a team with 251 points, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys were led by a 24th place finish by Conner Miller in 18:49.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL coach Traci Moorehead says of the 20 student-athletes, 17 recorded season-best times and 11 recorded personal records.

The Bulldogs will return to action Thursday at Central Springs. The Broncos will be at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Monday.
