The West Fork volleyball team kept sets close early but saw Osage mount scoring runs to distance the score in every set in 3-0 loss at home in Top of Iowa East play on Tuesday. The Green Devils won by set scores of 25-16, 25-5, and 25-10.
In Set 1, the Warhawks led 11-6, the Green Devils evened the set at 13-13 and turned the table from there with an 8-0 scoring run to go ahead 21-13 and closed out the set. In Set 2, Osage pulled ahead to a 12-4 lead, followed by a 9-0 scoring run to extend lead to 21-4, to take a 2-0 lead in the match. In Set 3, after a 4-4 tie, the Green Devils went ahead 14-7 and led by at least six points for the remainder of the set to close out the match.
West Fork is now 5-7 overall and 2-2 in Top of Iowa East and will have a week before their next match at North Butler on October 1.
