The West Fork football team will face it’s toughest test of the season to this point with a roadtrip to #3(A) West Hancock on Friday. The Warhawks will look for first ever win over the Eagles in Bound Era series.

West Fork (1-3 overall, 0-2 district) lost 27-17 late in their homecoming game to Lake Mills last week. The Warhawks offense has kept drives alive with its run game with 838 rushing yards. Dax Suntken leads the backfield with 377 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The Warhawks defense has kept district games close with five turnovers forced (one interceptions and four fumbles) this season.

West Fork Head Coach Dan Westhoff on what a matchup with the Eagles presents.

“You find out how tough you are real quick. That’s the measuring stick for better or worse, it really crystallizes where you are and how much better you need to get,” says Westhoff. “That program is toughness and discipline and they almost never beat themselves. They’re just so well-coached. They know all the adjustments. It’s a well-oiled machine offensively and their kids are just so disciplined. It’s an enormous challenge and we’ll give it our best week of prep and we’ll be ready to come up with a plan. Hopefully give our guys a chance to make some plays and we gotta go up there and go play.”

West Hancock (4-0 overall, 3-0 district) had a dominant 46-7 win at North Union in district action last week. The Eagles also present a heavy running package with 1,277 rushing yards (third most in Class A). Brady Bixel is the Eagles top rusher with 505 yards and 12 touchdowns.

West Hancock won last year’s meeting 62-0 in Sheffield.

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. in Britt.
